There’s a lot to be said for building a business around something that people already want. Product ideas? Startup ideas? Fill a need that exists.

Yesterday I posted here about a Twitter-related app that I wanted, and although I saw some action about it on Twitter, nobody so far has said they have it ready to go. But I’m sure there’s a need.

On the other hand, I’m not sure you or I are the right ones to build it. You need interest, skill base, and resources. And, worse yet, I’m not sure there’s enough money in it. I’d pay for it, but I’m not sure enough other people would.

With that in mind, I want to follow up what I suggested yesterday with this list of

Think of it as instant business: just add know-how, resources, time, effort, and money.
