I attended the Willamette SCORE’s Business Success Seminar yesterday and although it took me out of the office for the entire day, it was definitely worth it. The seminar was geared to entrepreneurs wanting to learn the nuts and bolts of starting or growing a successful business. Tim Berry presented the session on business planning, and a number of other local companies (Jones & Roth, Liberty Bank and Hutchinson, Cox, Coons, DuPriest, Orr & Sherlock) and SCORE counselors donated their time to speak on bookkeeping, financing, legal issues, marketing and more.
I am not starting a business and therefore some of the information wasn’t directly relevant, but because we partner with SCORE, it was a great opportunity for me to see what the seminar was all about. And as an added bonus, I ended up learning some new things in the meantime!
Since we are based in Eugene, OR, a relatively small and very community-oriented city, I like to support local businesses and do what I can to bring more business to our community. Therefore, I wanted to show my support for SCORE by learning more about the seminar they offer our community and be an evangelist for future seminars.
It was great to see the room packed with excited entrepreneurs and know that there could be some new exciting businesses coming to our community. Great job to SCORE for a very well presented and very well attended seminar.
