Last week I cited Guy Kawasaki’s 10 lies of lawyers in this spot, and this week we have Nina Kaufman’s Top Ten Lies Clients Tell You, from the other point of view. I’m not the slightest bit surprised to see the other side of that story.

I’ve never been the lawyer, but I’ve been the client off and on for a lot of years. And I like top 10 lists. Among my favorites in Nina’s list are ones that I recognized instantly because I used to get them a lot during the years I was a business planning consultant:

  1. This company will be huge and have a lot of work to throw your way.
  2. This cost me a lot more than you promised.
  3. This wasn’t what I asked for.

That’s just three of ten though. And if you’ve been in business for a while, as either lawyer or client, you’ll recognize all of them. On both lists.
