Whoever said, “age ain’t nothing but a number” must have been referring to entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is defined as the act of introducing something new, and we live in a time where people all over the world are embarking on the path of being an entrepreneur. You can too. Whether you’re 7 or 70, here are three things that can motivate you to tear up the birth certificate and follow your dreams.
Resources
The Internet is full of resources where you can become an expert in any field, regardless of age. It’s because of blogs like Up and Running that I’ve learned valuable information about building a business and creating great content. If you want to become a freelance graphic designer, there are plenty of YouTube videos posted about using Adobe software. Even someone who can’t boil an egg can become the next Paula Dean thanks to technology.
Lemonade Day
If Lemonade Day doesn’t convince you that age does not matter then I’m not sure what will. Lemonade Day is a worldwide movement, and it has far greater meaning than quenching thirst. It prepares kids all over the world for life skills and entrepreneurship. I am in love with the mission behind Lemonade Day, and I wanted to share this small excerpt that I took straight from their website.
“They learn that if you set a goal, make a plan, and work that plan, you can achieve your dreams.”
As the quote implies, age is not an important factor in success. If you set a goal and work hard, you will reap the benefits.
Quotes
I love quotes! I have them on my bedroom mirror for inspiration, and below are three of my favorite:
“Age is an issue of mind over matter. If you don’t mind, it doesn’t matter.” Mark Twain
“There is no greater gift you can give or receive than to honor your calling. It’s why you were born. And how you become most truly alive.” Oprah
“You conceive your world in your mind and then create it with your hands.” Chris Widener
What do you conclude from these quotes? I believe that we are all in control of our life, and there are no rules when it comes to doing what you love.
You can become an entrepreneur at any age because all you need is passion, plans, and a great work ethic. There will never be a perfect age or a perfect time. Just do it!
